I will pull my child out from martial arts to study! Wow.. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this over the years  and its flawed on so many levels. It will give  them more time to focus ? Absolutely not! Your child is not going to study  from the moment they get home to the time they go to bed. They will not study  all weekend either. They will be less tired? Energy  builds energy. Train to Never Quit!

I had a chance to meet up with Master Reyes,he certainly is a shining example of "training to never quit". So why bother going to 7th dan? As well as challenging myself I have to sincerely say its all about my students. There is nothing I ask of them that I would not do myself and that includes training and working towards my next level. Is it about the belt? Certainly not, its about sharpening the sword, it's about constant and never ending improvement, it's about growth and inspiration which quite frankly cannot be shown by simply wearing a belt. Last but not least its about the training, I aim for my students and my industry peers to see and know I am active and always working.Winning respect and self respect is everything to me. Its almost 30 years in the making so its something that did not happen over night.....infact as I reflect I am amazed at all the things I have been through and how quickly it has gone.
